Bridesmaids - The Hottest Trends

Whether you want a bridal party made up of 10 of your closest friends or whether you want to keep it intimate, we've tracked down the hottest trends for all things bridesmaid.  Here are our favorite trends:

Asking them to join your bridal party
Brides are getting more and more creative about how they ask their friends to be bridesmaids. Think of a fun way to ask them to be a part of your special day. Frame pictures of you and your “soon to be attendant” with a note asking them to be a bridesmaid and mail it to them.  Send them flowers with a note asking them to be a bridesmaid or if you are feeling really creative throw a surprise party for them – invite them over for dinner and decorate your house with wedding decorations and a sign that says “Will You Be My Bridesmaid?”

Man of Honor
If you best friend happens to be a guy have them be the Man of Honor.  There is no reason why you can have him join the party!

Shorter Dresses
Many designers such as Watters and Watters, Bari Jay, Bill Levkoff and Jasmine Belsoie and Jasmine B2 are coming out with the newest crop of tea length dresses.  Many designers are bringing the hems up and showing a little leg. The added benefit? These less traditional bridesmaid dresses can be worn again and again.

Coed Parties
More and more bridesmaids are planning the bachelorette party on the same night as the bachelor party. Many are just combining both parties and planning activities that involve both the bride and the groom.  Consider a small luncheon for just the girls but a blow out party with the boys later on in the evening.

Kids Only Please
Europeans have been having kids only bridal parties for years.  You may want to consider this if there is a joining of extended families from previous marriages – for example new step-kids and make it into a kid only and family only affair.
